It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to commemorating someone’s life, so here we’ve shared information on four different ways to fundraise.
Create a Tribute Fund for someone special
A Tribute Fund offers a wonderful place to remember your loved one and create a lasting legacy in their honour, alongside raising funds to support our lifesaving work. With a Tribute Fund, you’ll be able to:
- Share memories and photos of your loved one with friends and family.
- Help raise vital funds for Anthony Nolan in your loved one’s memory.
- Light virtual candles in recognition of anniversaries and special dates.

Funeral donations and collections
Many people ask for donations to a charity close to their heart in lieu of flowers at funerals. If you’re considering asking friends and family to donate to Anthony Nolan, we can help you.
We can provide you with donation envelopes for your collection, or help you set up a funeral notice page dedicated to your loved one where people can donate online.
If you’d like to talk to someone about holding a Funeral Collection and request materials, please get in touch.
Fundraising in memory
Hold an event
You might choose to remember someone by holding an event or taking on a meaningful challenge in their honour. Doing something with others to celebrate the life of a loved one can be a wonderful way to mark their life and support each other. Whether you walk, run, swim, dance or dine, do it in their name. You can create and share your fundraising event through a Tribute Fund or JustGiving page.
Remembering Alice
Promising writer Alice Byron was diagnosed with a blood disorder at just 20 years old. Her writing talent and incredible spirit were captured in her blog, which detailed life at university with a serious illness.
Tragically Alice’s blood disorder developed into leukaemia. She had a stem cell transplant in 2016, but it wasn’t successful and she died just a few weeks later, leaving her loved ones devastated.
In honour of Alice’s indomitable spirit, her family and friends set up Team Alice, resolving to carry on raising awareness and vital funds in her memory. They’ve raised over £150,000 so far – an incredible total honouring a very special person.
Donate in memory of a loved one
A gift in memory of someone close to you, whether it’s a one-off donation or a regular amount, ensures we can keep adding more potential lifesavers to the register, offering more hope for people with blood cancer or blood disorders.
Donation
Leave a special gift in our Memory Meadow
In our virtual Memory Meadow, you can dedicate a donation to a loved one and share your special memories and photos. Your dedication will help to match patients and donors, fund groundbreaking research and leave a legacy of hope for future generations.
Leave a gift in your will
The gifts people leave to Anthony Nolan in their wills play a real and tangible role in enabling us to carry on saving the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. For decades, they have helped our charity to facilitate over 20,000 transplants and grow the register to over 800,000 potential donors.
